LIPS STEP-BY-STEP
PROCEDURE
We use state of the art equipment and material approved by the state of California for the procedure (before we start with the procedure forms must be filled out as required by State law).
We start by cleaning the facial area properly. We will draw the shape of the lips as agreed upon earlier, sterilize the surface, and then apply topical anesthetic (cream and/or gel).
We begin to insert the pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. When finished, the pigment will look 40 to 50% darker then the color you have chosen. Within the next 3 to 4 days it will fade and the color that you have chosen will appear. The treatment generally takes between 1 to 2 hours and should leave you with natural enhanced lips.
RETOUCH
It is recommended that you return for a second touch up within 6 to 10 weeks. It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes; we will be adding more pigment to the brow area. During the healing process, some parts of the skin in the brow area may not hold the pigment well and we may need to add more. This is completely normal and it is important to remember that everyone heals differently.
LIP-BLUSH
A cosmetic tattooing machine used to gently implant pigment into the skin creating dimension, using a fading (shading) technique used to achieve a soft and smooth look, giving volume and color to the lips appearance. We can combine more than two or three colors in order to achieve dimension and a sensual fullness effect.
LIP GLOW
During the first melanin rich lip correction session it is important to neutralize cool tones and lift the darkness of the lips We do this with the help of warm based pigment working with red/orange based colors to get your desired look. It is a step-by-step, advanced process:
Neutralization Phase I use warm, carefully selected pigments to gently cancel unwanted greys, blues, or purples and soften uneven patches. Blush Phase (if indicated) Once your lips have healed from neutralization, we may add a soft blush overlay to reach your desired tone.
This service requires expert color theory, experience with ethnic lips, and a deep respect for how melanin behaves in the skin. It is not “just lip blush on dark lips”—it is a different technical level.

Consultation & Color Strategy
We start with a personalized consultation where I:
Evaluate your natural lip color, undertone, and symmetry
Identify areas of darkness, cool tones, or patchiness

Review your medical history, medications, and cold sore (herpes simplex) history

Design & Shape Refinement
Next, I refine your natural outline:
Enhancing the cupid’s bow and lip border without creating a hard “liner ring”
Softly correcting small asymmetries so your lips look balanced and proportional
Ensuring the shape suits your nose, chin, and overall facial proportions
You see and approve the design before any pigment is implanted.
Numbing & Pigment Application
Your lips are cleansed and carefully numbed with a professional topical anesthetic.
Then, using gentle, layered passes with high-quality PMU equipment:
For Lip Blush, I build transparent layers of color to create a seamless, diffused tint.
For Lip Neutralization, I first apply corrective warm pigments, and, if appropriate, later layer a blush tone once the lips are ready.
Typical session length: 2–3 hours, depending on your starting point and technique.
Immediately after, your lips look brighter and more saturated than your final result—this is normal and temporary.
Healing Phase (Approx. 7–10 Days)
During healing, you may experience:
Mild swelling in the first 24–48 hours
Tightness or dryness as the lips naturally exfoliate
A “too light” phase as the skin regenerates internally before the final color returns
You receive clear aftercare instructions, including:

Perfecting Session (7–10 Weeks Later)

In your Perfecting Session, we:
Reinforce pigment where the lips healed lighter
Fine-tune warmth, brightness, and saturation
Adjust small shape details if needed
